Biografie

Jose Manuel Ramírez Fernández (Spain 1991) started playing cello being 7 years old at the Professional Music Conservatory in Jaén (Spain) before going to study in Granada (Real Conservatorio Superior de Música “Victoria Eugenia”) ten years later with the teacher Maria del C. Coronado.

In addition to having been a member of the Orchestral Studies Academy of the Barenboim-Said Foundation, Young Orchestra of Andalusia and the Young National Orchestra of Spain, he has collaborated with professional orchestras such as Orchestra City of Granada, Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra, Orquesta do Algarve (POR).

In 2015, he began to study Baroque Violoncello with Professors Mercedes Ruiz (Seville Baroque Orchestra) and Gaetano Nasillo (Daroca’s Early Music Course). He has taken chambermusic lessons from musicians such as Enrico Onofri, François Fernandez, Manfredo Kraemer and Raquel Andueza.

In 2018, he goes to study Bachelor of Baroque Cello at the Utrecht Conservatorium with Professor Viola de Hoog.
