Biografie

Víctor Naranjo was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands, Spain) in 1996, where he began studying piano at the age of 7, with his mother Mª del Carmen Pérez. At age of 8 he entered the Professional Conservatory of Music of Las Palmas and continued his studies with Emilio Tabraue and Galina Neporozohnya.

He finished his bachelor’s degree with Pr. Alexander Kandelaki at the CSM “Bonifacio Gil” of Badajoz in Spain, obtaining Cum laude score in his final exam and the Extraordinary Prize of end of career.

He has received masterclasses from Pascal Nemirovsky, Marta Gulyas, Boris Berman, Aleksandar Madžar, Boris Giltburg, Enrico Pace, Galina Iwanzowa, Claudio M. Mehner, Nino Kereselidze, András Kemenes, Ervin Nagy, , Kennedy Moretti, Begoña Uriarte, Miguel A. Chavaldas, Albert Atenelle, Daniel del Pino, among others.

He has been awarded in many national and international competitions as Infanta Cristina (Madrid, Spain), 1st prize at the National Competition Jacinto Guerrero (Toledo) 1st prize at the Piano Competition Veguellina de Órbigo (León, Spain), 2nd prize at the City of San Sebastián (San Sebastián, Spain), 1st prize at the Young Musicians Competition of Extremadura, (Almendralejo, Spain), 2nd prize at the Cidade do Fundão (Fundao, Portugal), 1st prize at the Santa Cecilia International Competition, (Oporto, Portugal), 1st prize International Piano Competition Esteban Sánchez (Cáceres, Spain), Vrienden Cultuur Prijs (Tilburg, Holanda)…

He has played in the most important concert venues in Spain and abroad as Helsinborg (Sweden), Copenhague, (Dinamarca), Amsterdam, (Holland), Vallée du Tarn (France)…

He has performed piano concertos of Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev with the CSM “Bonifacio Gil” Orchestra and the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra.

 

He has received the scholarship Juventudes Musicales of Madrid from the hands of the Queen Sofía of Spain, as well as the support from Alvargonzález Foundation, Musici van Morgen Foundation, MAPFRE Guanarteme Foundation, as well as the Jacques Vonk Foundation, this last one given as the best incoming master’s student to the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

 

Since October of 2019, he enjoys a Grotrian Steinweg grand piano from The Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation.

Recently, he has been selected to perform a recital at the Naarden International Piano Festival (Naarden, May 2021). He is currently studying in the master’s programme at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, with Pr. David Kuyken
